My friend and I walked in and asked for board rentals and lessons. Matt called up another instructor, Lexie, and got us in the water in 20 minutes to get some surfing in at T Street  before the tide came all the way in. He made sure we could paddle out, time a green wave, and pop up. The next day he looked up the surf report for us and sent us down to Old Man’s and told us to paddle all the way out to catch the first breakers and ride the longest waves. Matt really helped us make the most of the situation at our beginner skill level, and we really benefitted from his long local experience. P.S. get the booties, because the stingrays are nasty without them.
